Popular Free Online Tools
The tools people use most: resize photos for upload forms, convert images and PDFs, turn videos into GIFs, record your screen, and handle everyday calculations and CSS units.
Every tool works directly in your browser — no downloads, no installation and no sign-up. Your files, text and values stay on your device.
Image & PDF Tools
Resize, compress and convert images, and turn images into PDFs or PDFs into images — privately in your browser, with no uploads.
How to use the image and PDF tools
- Open a tool and drop your files on it, or click to choose them. You can add several images at once.
- Pick the settings: a new size in pixels, a percentage or a file size in KB; the output format; and, for JPG and WebP, the quality.
- Click the convert button and download each file, or all of them together as a ZIP.
Good to know
- Formats: JPG, PNG and WebP images; the PDF maker accepts JPG and PNG, and PDF to JPG / PNG reads any PDF, including password-protected ones.
- Limits: up to 200 MB and 100 megapixels per image, and 100 MB per PDF. WebP itself allows at most 16,383 px per side. Very large PDF pages are rendered at up to 16 megapixels.
- Exact file sizes: the 20 KB, 50 KB and 100 KB tools and the Image Resizer's KB mode find the highest quality that fits, and only make the picture smaller in pixels when even the lowest sensible quality is too big.
- Quality: PNG output is lossless; phone photos keep the right orientation and colour profile. JPG and WebP are lossy, so keep your originals.
- Privacy: everything is processed in your browser, so files are never uploaded. Very large images can run out of memory on phones; a computer handles them better.
Video, GIF & Screen Recording
Make animated GIFs from videos or images, resize GIFs, and record your screen with sound — all inside your browser.
How to use the video and GIF tools
- Video to GIF: drop a video, set where the GIF starts and ends, choose its width and frames per second, then click Convert to GIF and download it.
- GIF Maker: add images (or GIFs), put them in order, choose how long each one shows, then make the GIF.
- GIF Resizer: drop a GIF, type the new width or height (or a percentage) and resize it.
- Screen Recorder: choose a quality, tick system audio or microphone if you want sound, click Start Recording and pick a screen, window or tab. Stop when you're done and download the video.
Good to know
- Video to GIF: MP4, WebM and MOV videos up to 500 MB; a GIF can be up to 45 seconds long and 1280 px wide, at 1–30 frames per second and 8–256 colours. Short clips at 480 px and 10 FPS keep files small.
- GIF Maker: up to 300 images and 600 frames per GIF, up to 1280 px wide. GIF Resizer: GIFs up to 200 MB; every frame, its timing and transparency are kept.
- Screen Recorder: works in desktop Chrome, Edge and Firefox (Safari has limited support, and phones don't allow screen recording from a website). Sound from your computer can be recorded in Chrome and Edge when you share a tab or, on Windows, the whole screen. Each recording can last up to 30 minutes in 1080p, 1 hour in 720p, 2 hours in 480p or 3 hours in 360p (2 GB at most).
- Download before you leave: recordings and GIFs exist only in your browser until you download them, because nothing is uploaded.
CSS Unit Converters
Switch between absolute and relative CSS units for responsive layouts and accessible typography.
How the CSS converters work
Type a value and the result updates as you type. Each converter has a table of common values and explains how the conversion works, and you can choose how many decimal places to round to (0–15).
- REM is relative to the root font size, 16 px by default; change the base size if your site uses a different one.
- EM depends on the font size of the parent element, so enter that size for an exact result.
- VW and VH are a percentage of the browser window; the converter fills in your current window size, and you can change it to the screen you design for.
- Percent needs the size of the parent element that the percentage refers to.
Length & Print Converters
Convert screen pixels to physical units for print, PDFs and design hand-offs, with an adjustable DPI.
Screen units vs real-world sizes
These converters use the CSS standard of 96 pixels per inch, so 1 inch = 96 px = 72 pt = 25.4 mm. For print, set the DPI to your printer's resolution (300 DPI is common) to find how many pixels an image needs.
Limitation: a "CSS inch" is not always a real inch on screen. Phones, high-resolution displays and zoom levels change the physical size, so use these values for layouts and print files rather than to measure your screen with a ruler.
Calculators, Text & Design Tools
Everyday helpers for students, writers, designers and developers.
Good to know
- Percentage calculators answer the common questions (X% of Y, what percent one number is of another, increase and decrease), and each page explains the formula. Percentage difference compares two values on equal terms, while percentage change measures from an old value to a new one; the blog explains when to use which.
- Word Counter counts words, characters, sentences and paragraphs, and estimates reading time at about 200 words a minute and speaking time at about 130. Your text is saved in this browser only, so it is still there if you reload.
- Case Converter changes text to UPPERCASE, lowercase, Title Case or Sentence case; check names and brand spellings after converting.
- Color converters switch between HEX, RGB, RGBA and HSL, and the Aspect Ratio Calculator finds a ratio or the missing width or height for resizing without stretching.

How Our Online Tools Work
Each Convert tools are designed to deliver instant and accurate results directly in your browser. Simply enter the required value, and the result is calculated in real-time using precise formulas and optimized scripts. For example, our PX to REM converter uses the standard 16px base for instant web design calculations.
Because everything runs in your browser, you don’t need to download any software or install any applications, and nothing you enter is sent to our server. This keeps the tools fast, private and usable from anywhere in the world. You can easily switch between different units like PX to VW or PX to VH with just one click.
The image, PDF and GIF tools use the same proven software as desktop apps — MozJPEG, Google's libwebp, OxiPNG, PDF.js and our own GIF encoder — compiled to WebAssembly so they run at near-native speed in your browser. That is how the Image Resizer can shrink a photo to an exact file size and the Video to GIF Converter can make small, sharp GIFs without uploading anything.
Our goal is to keep every tool simple, lightweight, and easy to understand, so anyone can use it without technical knowledge.
